Welcome To The Campaign To Stop Killer Robots Global Meeting 2021
Wednesday 24 March 2021

13:00 - 17:00 GMT

In March 2021, the Campaign to Stop Killer Robots will hold its third annual global meeting of its members and allies from around the world virtually. The objective is to build out our collective work to preemptively ban fully autonomous weapons by convincing states to launch negotiations on a new treaty. Our first meeting in Berlin in March 2019 helped propel a ripple of movement amongst European states and our activities in Argentina last February made a positive impact in the Latin American region.

Due to the challenges the COVID pandemic presents us, the next global meeting will be held virtually. This meeting emphasizes the urgent need for global political support for a new treaty to preemptively ban killer robots, and the need for digital diplomacy to continue our strong global engagement. We will continue looking for a new pathway as current diplomatic talks at the Convention on Conventional Weapons (CCW) have failed to deliver this shared goal.
